For guidance on completing exams, read the Student Handbook for exams.
Before your online exam
- Check your exam timetable. Find your exam schedule in MyTimetable. All times appear in UK time, so set your devices to UK time to avoid confusion.
- Understand your exam format. Online exams follow different formats, called options. Review the format details in the Student Handbook so you know what to expect.
- Identify the exam platform. Most online exams use Exams ELE. Make sure you know where to access your exam and how to submit your answers.
- Check for messages from your module convenor. You may get sent guidance on the specific equipment or software you need to use in your exam.
- Gather your materials. If your exam allows books or notes, collect everything you need before you download the exam.
- Follow your Individual Learning Plan (ILP). You will get notified of any specific provisions before your exam. Contact your Hub/Info Point if you expect an alternative assessment.
During your online exam
- Access your exam through the correct platform:
- During the teaching term: Go to your module page on Teaching ELE to access your test or quiz.
- During the main exam periods: Use the module page on Exams ELE to access your exam.
- Submit your work in the correct order. If you handwrite any part of your exam, scan or photograph your pages, then arrange them in the correct order. You can then combine them into a single document. Submit your work in the required format, for example, PDF.
